This is the installation of RASCAL on the T-39. The instrument is the
box situated just above the floor in the lower center of the image. It is
encased in an aluminum sheild to block light from escaping during operation,
since the laser is not eye safe at such close distances. You can
see the power and signal leads for the Photo Multiplier Tube we use
for signal detection coming out of the center of the box running to the right.
Behind the instrument, you see the acquistion computer and to the left in
the rear of the plane, the water cooling unit for the laser is visible.
