The following is a naming convention for several of the Project datasets. The name of the file includes information on the type, format, and time span of the data as well as any special processing. If the format includes values calculated from a model, the model used is also included in the name. Each format is referenced by a keyword. All known formats are outlined below with their keywords. Binary files are listed in terms of byte lengths of variables, and ASCII files are listed in terms of FORTRAN format descriptors.
